Because the application incorrectly trusts this header, an attacker can impersonate any user, including administrators, without requiring a password. This grants full access to confidential data and system controls. More specifically, the HTTPBasicAuth modules for the agent (Kernel::System::Auth::HTTPBasicAuth) and customer (Kernel::System::CustomerAuth::HTTPBasicAuth) interfaces read the username to log in not only from $ENV{REMOTE_USER} (set by the web server after successful authentication), but also, as a fallback, from $ENV{HTTP_REMOTE_USER}, which is populated directly from an attacker-controllable "Remote-User" request header. On systems where HTTPBasicAuth was configured as the authentication backend, this allowed an attacker to log in as any existing user by sending a request with a forged Remote-User header, without providing any credentials.","2026-10-15T04:18:00Z",{"cvss_v4.0":10
"NOT_DEFINED","4.0","USER",9.5,"YES","NETWORK","CRITICAL","CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:L/SC:H/SI:H/SA:L/E:X/CR:X/IR:X/AR:X/MAV:X/MAC:X/MAT:X/MPR:X/MUI:X/MVC:X/MVI:X/MVA:X/MSC:X/MSI:X/MSA:X/S:X/AU:Y/R:U/V:X/RE:L/U:Red","RED","NONE","LOW","PRESENT","HIGH",true,[26],"CWE-348",[],[],[30,31],"https://www.znuny.org/advisories","https://www.znuny.org/en/advisories/zsa-2026-14",0.68,0.00234,0.14192,false,null
"2026-10-19T18:36:30.445045Z","no","total","none
"CISAv1/E:N/A:N/T:T/M:H/2026-10-25T16:05:00.500258/","track_star","medium","14D",[48,54,64
"Exploit Public-Facing Application","attack_vector",[52],"initial-access","T1190
"ARP Cache Poisoning","capec",[26],[59,60],"collection","credential-access",[62],"CAPEC-141","T1557.002
"DNS Server",[26],[68],"resource-development",[70],"CAPEC-142","T1584.002",[
30,"http://web:8606/api/articles/?page=2&sorted_by=-published_at",[77,84,92,100,107,114,121,126,133,140
"PHP2Shell: Two Critical RCE Flaws in PHP (CVSS 9.2)","Unauthenticated code execution demonstrated on WordPress, Drupal and Joomla, and reproduced in our lab.
